Enjoying my freedom, eh maybe too much!
Well now that Upward Bound is over I have had plenty of time to have fun and spend all my money. Errr, I did put about 700 in savings to help with the house payments I will be making, however I was banking on doing this Quintiles study which I got disqualified from. Well so now, I am pretty tight on the whole money thing, but thats ok, I am pretty thrifty!
The Minnesota trip was a blast, I got to do alot of really fun stuff, and stay in a sweet hotel. Haha kinda wish I was still there, but I like being home too!
Last weekend I moved alot of stuff up to my place in Maryville. My room is sweet now! Its going to be a fun year living with Garrett (plus the other residents of our house) again! Plus I am really stoked for this years classes. They all seem really cool, cause they are all closely related to my major. Hopefully I can still be the manager for the womens basketball team! (kinda banking on that too) I really liked working for them last year!
Well thats all for now going to a Demi Lovato concert tonight! Wooohoooo!

Almost done!
Well we are counting down the days until Upward Bound leaves for their vacation in Minnesota. A fully paid trip, which includes 3 nights in the Embassy suites, a twins game, trip to the zoo, valley fair, and of course the mall of america and much more. Haha not trying to brag or anything, but all of that is pretty cool for being FREE!
Anyways...Upward Bound has been fun, but I am about ready for it to be over, and it almost is. Next week is our last! So I am excited about that. There is still alot I want to do this summer! Including my second trip to Minnesota, which will not be free, haha.
Fathers day was really cool. We all went to the Royals Cardinals game. (My seventh royals game of the year) I tried, the famous Rib Stack sandwich, which is a 7oz rib eye topped with onion rings barbaque sauce and cheese, something that will fill a calorie counters menu for a month. However the heat was hot, and the walk was long, so I am sure most of that was burned off. The Royals lost :( but we did get to see a Pujols grand slam, which was really exciting!
Well gotta go teach my team sports class! Its pretty hot out there, so I gotta keep the kids in the gym :( I think its gonna be like that the rest of the summer! I think its time to go swimmin!!

Upward Bound
Well summer has been fun so far and now I have started my Upward Bound duties of being an RA.
Basically my job entails that I be here from Sunday at 5pm to Friday at noon, to make sure living here on campus is safe and enjoyable for the high school students in the program. We RA's are to plan activities, make sure students are attending classes and meals, and that the students are being safe and appropriate. Its a really fun job, and I get to do alot of fun stuff for free!!!
The Upward Bound Session ends July 6th. At this point we will be getting back from our four day vacation in Minneapolis. This trip too is free for me to go to as I will be a chaperone for the students. There are alot of sights and activities that we get to attend around the city, one being a trip to the Metrodome to see the Twins play the Yankees.
After Upward Bound is over, I hope I can find a way to make some money, (besides plasma) before going back to school, but even admist that me and Stephen are planning yet another Minnesota trip for me that would include seeing me grandparents. We plan on making a trip to the Metrodome to see the Royals for the first time outside of Kauffman stadium.
Well thats about all! Summers been great so far!

Finally Enough has happened to make this a little interesting...
Well summer has started and it has been great so far!
Its really hard for me to get on here and post, during school, I would spend night writing lesson plans or papers, and just take a break and write a post, just to change it up a bit, but now that its summer, arena football, royals games, random trips back to maryville, and free opportunities to go to Worlds of Fun, have prevented me from getting on my computer much.
I am really excited about the Royals this year, they are making the start of this summer really fun. They are playing really well and I hope they keep it up. On Monday May 4th, I went to my third Royals game of the year, and even though the boys in blue had been winning, they had not won while I was in attendance. Zack Greinke, the Royals star pitcher, pitched a complete game shutout and the royals won 3-0. It was one of the most exciting games I went to, because not only did I see an amazing performance, the Royals are actually in first place!
Arena Football is a funny thing. Some of you hear about it, and wonder what the craze is about it. Its really not that cool of game really, but what it does is get a group of friends together, outdoors enjoying the night. Even though the level of competition rises quickly to hot, we usually all just have a great time messing around playing some backyard ball.
Went to Maryville this week. Had to take care of some business, (get a deposit check, help a few brothers move, and hang out with the college friends) It was nice to see Garrett again, and I am excited to be able to live with him next year in the "Hawks Nest" (the name for our house since all the tenants are avid Jayhawk fans) I spend most of thursday, helping Jon move to Overland park. He is my pledge brother in Phi Sig that graduated this year, he is now going to Cleveland Chiropractic college (no I did not spell that right I bet)
Last night I got to go to Worlds of fun for free, and not only that, I recieved a free BBQ feast. The new ride "The Prowler" is amazing. It is such a rush. It was a really nice night to be out there, as it was not too hot, nor too cold. There were such some interesting people out there though lol.
Well thats about it, these are the things that make me just love summer!!! Hopefully I will find time again to post soon!

Finals Week!!!
Well its finally here, the end of school, just a few more tests and I will be out for summer. However I am taking a summer school class this year.
This weekend I was pretty busy, went to formal friday night, and then on Saturday went to the Royals game with Stephen and Malcolm. We played football afterwards and it was alot of fun.
Sunday was senior speeches at Phi Sigma Kappa. A few close friends are graduating, it was really a good experience.
Well gotta go study for some finals...almost there!

Almost there
So its been awhile since my last post, but not really all that much has happened. I have been just working hard, managin Phi Sigma Kappa Athletics, and doing my homework.
I was about to type about how excited I am for this semester to end, and I decided not too. Although I am excited for this semester to end, I dont know how excited I am anymore. Its kinda of a wierd thing, where I realized that my time here is flying by way to quickly and I am going to really miss it.
One thing I am really going to miss is my fraternity. Phi Sigma Kappa has been a source of great Pride for me the last few years. It has helped me grow more as a person, and become a better man. I only have one more year to be an active Phi Sig, so I definately want to take full advantage of that. We are sending the seniors off in style this weekend, I am gonna miss those guys, they have been such a big part of my life for three years.
So this upcoming weekend is the PSK formal. Then I am planning on going to a Royals game on saturday. GO ROYALS, I really hope this is the season everyone is hoping for.
Well thats about it, gotta go study for these finals! Yippee!!!

Easter fun!!!
Well my Easter weekend went pretty well. It was actually pretty relaxing and not as hectic as my normal trips home. I actually had a night somewhat to myself, where I did some homework and watched a movie. Even though part of me wished I had more to do, and someone to do it with, it was nice to kinda just chill.
On Easter I got to hang out and see alot of people I had been missing. It was a good time to get to go to Bales baptist and then hang out at Ethan's house afterwards. I headed to Maryville in the afternoon, but actually stopped in St Joe because as I was driving through a friend called and told me to bowl a few games with them since it was dollar night.
I hadn't bowled in forever, not a huge fan of bowling at all, but it was interesting I actually bowled a really good game. In the first game I rolled a 169, thanks mainly for me rolling three strikes in the final frame. I had never, ever done that before. In the second game I sunk to a 110, and then in the third I got back up to a respectable 127. Besides the unwarranted success, (I usually bowl well under 100) it was fun to get out and do something different with some friends.
Well lots of things are coming up this month, so I probably wont be home until summer. First this weekend is the Boys Like Girls concert, then the next weekend after that is Phi Sig Formal. (I know its been canceled and rescheduled like 100 times lol) but this one is actually in stone. Then I think the weekend after that will be when school is out. SO EXCITED FOR SUMMER!!! Royals games, basketball at the y and center, going to the lake, vacations and trips, Upward Bound, hanging out with the homies!!! Should shape up pretty well.
I am so glad, for everything God has blessed me with! Praise the Lord, he even forgives people like me....

Gods plan vrs mine
I like to have everything under control. I like to know exactly what we are doing and when. I like to have a plan for action. If it doesn't go my way, I get frustrated. Sometimes even mad.
However God says that we truly have very little control about what happens. He makes everything work in his plan, and unfortunately, sometimes I am too immature to realize that plan is better for me.
Last night, I was going to a Easter youth service at 7pm, afterwards there was planned to be a gathering with the youth group at some place in the city of Independence. Me and Stephen were excited to attend these events and it seemed as it my night was planned out pretty well. However us attending those events was definately not in Gods plans, as my brother broke down somewhere in the Middle of his trip back home. It was hard to understand how this whole situation was necessary in Gods plan.
On the way out me and Stephen had alot of time to talk. Believe it or not, our devotion we read in the car said that God wants us to be prepared for change, and how sometimes we cant understand how the change will help us in the end, but God promises that it will.
I think the car ride out and back actually was Gods plan for us. Me Stephen and Malcolm talked about alot of important things going on in our lives. Hopefully we can all stay strong and keep looking for Gods guidance in a world we have little control in.
Today we all go get to see the Royals play on OPENING DAY!!! Its so exciting! Hopefully the weather stays good for the game. Go ROYALS!!!

Another Year older...just another year
Well yesterday was quite the birthday, I went to class all day and worked on projects all day. I had to teach today also, so I spent my birthday doing lesson plans, and reading text messages.
I have not been on facebook for over a week. The reason for me taking a break on that is that I wanted to use my spare time to read the bible more and attain Gods guidance for my life. However, as you can see I am on Blogspot instead. No I am kidding, I have done pretty well with that and I am very excited to come home for Easter weekend.
Funny birthday story though. Yesterday I had a class that went from 430-6 (YA I KNOW on my birthday!!!) The teacher found out it was my birthday and had everyone say happy birthday together to me, it was a nice gesture, but it was very awkward, considering she thought my name was Kyle. I just ignored it, better to just keep quiet instead of embarrass her in front of the whole class, but later she said "Well I am thinking about letting class out early so everyone can celebrate Kyle's birthday" This rose a few chuckles from a few students who knew me, yet still we didn't say anything. She finally realized her folly when handing back my test. I felt bad for her embarrassment, but it did rise a good laugh.
I guess its pretty unfortunate that, that is the most exciting story from my birthday. However this weekend is going to be quite fun. Royals opening day is going to be quite fun.
Well tonight I play in the intramural all star game. Pretty amazing I still made this team after the way I performed all season. Anyways it should be fun!
See you all this weekend!

Pressin on
I dont really have too much to say, yet I thought I would post, just to keep everyone informed on whats going on in my life.
I have had an interesting last few days. I am really trying hard, to try as hard as I can, to be the very best that I can. Pray for me...I am weak.
However, I have a lot of good news. Today I attended an awards ceremony for Northwest future educators. I was awarded the Fred Fuhr memorial scholarship. I was blessed to meet the donors, and Dean Hubbard, the President of the University. (No his name is dean, he is not the Dean lol)
This past weekend, I went with Steve to the National Negro League baseball museum. It was a great experience. The Negro Leagues are very special to my heart, they were instrumental in helping desegregating American, not to mention sports.
Later that day, me, steve and malcolm played some hoops. It was alot of fun just kickin it with the guys.
Yay for my birthday, its Tuesday, which happens to be the first Royals game of the season.
GO ROYALS!!!

My Rear View mirror of regret.
A few years ago, something was tearing me up pretty bad. Alot of regret was conquering me and making me weak to the core. I was mad at myself, and at my situation. I hated what I had done, and I thought I could never be happy with myself because of my actions.
I was told a story that I will never forget, and even though not amazingly inspirational or exciting it was exactly what I needed to hear. The story was about a man who was suffering with something that he regretted. He never ever wanted to do it again, so he wrote what he regretted on his rear view mirror, so he would always be reminded never to make that mistake in which regretted so deeply. A few weeks later, he made another mistake, he regretted what he said to someone he loved so he wrote that on his mirror, so he would never remember to do that again. Another week went by and another regret, then another and another. Finally the mirror was so clogged with regret he could not even see his reflection in it anymore. He then crushed the mirror and got a new one, fresh from all of his mistakes from the past.
Sometimes, when you make mistakes you dwell on them way too long, and you end up only making more mistakes that you regret. You need to move on, and just try your best to rely on the guidance of the Lord and not let the past get in the way.
Unfortunately I never took this story to heart until today...here is my rear view mirror, I will never regret this stuff again, but move on to a future that is bright, with a new rear view mirror that is clear of the pains of my past.
Today I wrote all of my regrets on an old rear view mirror that fell off my car a couple weeks ago (dont worry I have new ones) and crushed it, symbolizing me moving on from the worries of my past.
One of the things I really realized today is that I am not in control. So many times I feel like I can control exactly whats going to happen to me, and time and time again, I realize that God has a different and better plan for my life.

The Ultimate Champion
So today was a good day,...sort of :(
some know the problems I am having, but I dont feel it is necessary to post a blog about it, just know I am not my happiest.
Great News: I was elected Phi Sigma Kappa Intramural chair. I am so excited! I am going to be in charge of setting up athletic events for the chapter, and encouraging every man to participate, and have fun with it. This position is a big resume builder for me, and I am very blessed to be recognized with this position.
One thing I love about athletics is sometimes is can bring out the best in a person and sometimes it can bring out the worst. Athletics are symbolic to life for many sports fans, and experiences faced in athletics can be translated to life.
Do you know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
This verse is definately one of my favorites. It really means alot to me and the way I live my life. In so many different ways. One of the biggest ways this verse speaks to me, is that it actually downgrades the importance of athletics, and shows how much MORE important our journey with the Lord is. Sometimes, I really comtemplate how much stronger my relationship with God would be if I put the same "never quit, never slow down" attitude into my relationship with him.
As a coach and a teacher, I will have, and have, alot of kids looking up to me. This verse also speaks to me about how important my example is. I must be a winner, before I can ever encourage others to be winners.

New Orleans!!!
So I had an amazing week in New Orleans. I think I did alot of good to the people down there and I had alot of fun also!!!
I have alot of homework to do, and my mind is racing about alot of other stuff going on in my life so this post will not give very good detail on how the trip went. I will have to tell you more in person.
Basically from mon-thurs we got up early and worked on houses, we got to meet the people we were building the house for, and we made really good friendships with the people we worked with. We also got to see the city, and go on a dinner cruise on the river. It was definately a life changing experience.
The trip was very tiring, and I am trying to catch up on the homework time I missed out on. Check out all the pics I posted on facebook!!!

The luck of the Irish!!
So Monday night Elections got canceled and I wont know if I got my position until after spring break, I will keep the following updated!!!
So today, I had a huge big test in Special Education, and the test got handed out with all the answers on it. It was a student teacher administering the test so the test just got canceled and we all went out and enjoyed the weather!
Went out to eat at Carsons today. It was wing night, I am so stuffed the food was really good, and it was nice hanging out with the guys!
To add to my fortunate luck today I was walking home from basketball and found a twenty dollar bill just laying there. Now I of course looked around for any potential losers, but in the end I just got lucky. I am twenty dollars richer I guess.
Now if you asked me if I felt a wee bit guilty for picking up that twenty, eh maybe, but it was muddy and wet, and if I didn't save it at that point it was a goner anyways.
Well hopefully I can keep this run of good luck going as long as possible!!!

Another good weekend in the books!!!
Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures to put up here. Me and Megan decided not to attend Phi Sigma Kappa's semi formal, but on the bright side we have three in April, so that should generate alot of great photos!
Well I came home this weekend, and on friday hung out with Stephen and Malcolm, (who I always hang out with, besides Megan of course) We pretty much just watched basketball and hung out! You know the usually thing!!!
On Saturday I mostly hung out with Megan, We went to the Zona Rosa and she bought me some shoes for my birthday. They are some of the nicest shoes I have ever owned. They are blue and white Pumas, they are sweet!!! We then went to the Independence Center, because an old friend Jordan Goldsmith's band was playing there. "Kerrington Cooper" as they are called sounded pretty good, considering I too once sung on the same stage as Jordan Goldsmith. Lol wow old time Englewood memories, me and Jordan performed "What if I Stumble" by DC talk in a Church talent show. Lol not a big thing, but funny considering he has his own band now.
That night Dad took me, Megan, and Malcolm all out to eat at IHOP it was really good, and provided some funny and interesting conversation. Then me and Megan hung out on the square for a little bit, but really didn't do anything since only one store was open.
Today I went to Church with Megan at Kansas City Baptist Temple, and something really bad happened, but actually was a good thing for me, because it made me refocus on being a better person and better Christian. On my way into the parking lot, I bumped into a parked car, while parking, and for a few minutes I actually thought about not saying anything and acting like it never happened, I mean there was no way to know it was me right? Fortunately I did the right thing and left a note, informing the owner I would pay any and all damages, with my phone number, however even though I did the right thing, I should not have even THOUGHT about not saying anything, that is just not the person I am or want to be. So I decided that, this was a sign from God telling me I should refocus on him, and live my life like he would want me to live it.
Wow this has been a really long post, maybe I should keep up on my posting. lol I am doing this post mainly as a stress reliever because I am really nervous about elections tommarro. I am running for Phi Sigma Kappa intermural chair. This postion, is the postion I have wanted since I was a freshman! I really hope it is Gods will to bless me with the honor of being the Intermural Chair! I am sure I will post tommarro with an update on whether I got the position or not!

Pretty cool weekend!!!
Well this was of course the weekend where I made the trip up to see Malcolm at his college in St Charles. Me and Stephen were going to leave friday, but he ended up having to work so we had to postpone leaving until Saturday morning.
All in all it was an awesome weekend, Me and Steve ate at a great restaurant in Columbia with Ricky and Ian called Jazz. There is one in Kansas City, and it was so good I am excited to go again. After hanging out with the guys in Columbia for awhile, we headed to LU and hung out with Malcolm. It was one of the most hillarious nights in MSZ history, I would share, but I dont think anyone would get it besides me and Mal. The big basketball game turned out really good, the game was really close and exciting, I am really glad we got to go!
Well next weekend is going to be really fun too. It is Phi Sigma Kappas semi formal so Megan is gonna come up to Maryville to visit. Ha its going to be nice not to have to drive for a weekend. :)
Check back later on this post I may have a HyDrive commercial posted on here soon, made by me malcolm and Stephen of course!
Anyways I have alot of homework to finish up on, turns out I will be going to New Orleans over spring break to help build houses for those in need! I will not be returning to Indep until April.

Yay for good ol Plasma!
Well my laundry is in the dryer, and its still not dry so I am up just waiting for it to be done so I decided to write a post.
For this last year, I have been the fundraising chairman for Phi Sigma Kappa. For this I am in charge of raising money for the chapter. Today was a burger king benefit night, which is where we get a percentage of BK's sales for the night if we make sure their lobby is clean. Its actually a really good fundraiser, we usually get 200-300 dollars for it.
This year I worked as the womens basketball manager. I didn't make much money, but enough to get me by, tonight was their last home game and we won!!! It was really exciting, the girls won by 2! Good way to end the season :)
Well thanks to my fundraising efforts, most of formal will be paid for by the chapter, so for those of you wondering how a poor college student can afford to do all these formals, well its cause they dont cost very much to me at least :). St Louis actually ended up being pretty inexpensive too! You will have to ask Megan about how much hers cost, but I am sure they are not too bad at all. Far as I know they are free. :) but I applied for a few jobs today, since basketball is ending, I am losing my only source of income, :(. I might not get a job though, because I dont want to work weekends, cause I want to be able to come home on the weekends whenever I want! I guess I will keep on donating that plasma, I get 70 dollars for my Saturday donation!!!

at least I am not living in the slums!
Yesterday I went to UCM to see the basketball game against Northwest. UCM won easily, but I mainly went there to see Carrie anyways, I knew Northwest really didn't have too much of a chance against UCM, since UCM is one of the best in the nation when it comes to basketball.
While I was there I watched a movie called slumdog millionaire, which I recommend! It was a very powerful movie, with a interesting storyline. One thing that movie really shows is how great we have it America, no matter how bad the ecomomy gets, we are still extremely blessed compared to other countries, like India (where the movie is based)
I dont know if I am gonna go on that trip to New Orleans now, I may try to make some money by doing a study, but we will see, there are also other things I am interested in possibly doing over the break, but going to New Orleans for that cheap of price is really a great deal, so we will see where God leads my heart on that one.
And as far as where I am going to live next year, I still have nothing...Ahh what a deal :(
Note: Drinking Hydrive energy later than 9pm can cause insomnia, on Friday night I tried going to bed at 12, I ended up pulling a all nighter right before my trip to UCM, because of the buzz of the energy drink. I will say it did taste quality, but wow, was it powerful.

The College Basketball Experience
Across the nation, hundreds of thousands of men have full-ride basketball scholarships to schools such as Kansas, and Oklahoma, Duke and North Carolina, but also schools such as Northwest Missouri State, University of Central Missouri, and Lindenwood. Even basketball players at a even lower level field athletic scholarships for schools such as William Jewel and Avila. All earning school tuition for their play in basketball, a dream for any die hard fan of the sport.
I love basketball, and play it frequently, but even the worst of the worst college basketball players is so far on a different level of skill than me it is amazing. At the Sprint Center in Kansas City it gives everyone the chance to be a "college basketball player" for a day. It has games where you shoot to beat the clock, shoot a free throw with crowd noise and pressure, and even has lower rims so you can dunk like the big boys. Its an amazing feeling, not too mention the chills down your spine you get as you walk through the college basketball hall of fame, which is connected to the college basketball experience.
After attending the CBE for the second time in a month, me and Stephen attended a UMKC basketball game. The Kangaroos pulled out a buzzer beater victory to win 61-59. It was an amazing game to watch, and I couldn't help but think how great of feeling it would be to play even for a school like UMKC that gets very little fan attention. Not too mention a big school such as Kansas or North Carolina.
I love sports, and being a college athlete is something I will always wish I could have had a chance to be, but that wasn't God's plan for my life, but it sure was nice, living that dream for a day!

So much fun in St Louis!!!
Well I had a pretty amazing weekend. For Valentines day I went on a road trip to St Louis. Me and megan saw the arch, went to a really nice restaurant, Dressed up really nice, and kinda took a look around a pretty cool city.
It turned out being one of the best weekends I have ever had!!! It was so fun! I used the money I had planned/saved for formal this weekend (formal was cancelled) so everything worked out really great! This weekend was also a celebration of six months with Megan, not to mention Valentines day!
Well back to school, gotta get on that homework, and I still have nowhere to live next year. AHH I just wish the FVA were not so full!!!

Oh where shall I live :( But I get to build houses!!!
Well my living arrangement for next year was all but set up, when suddenly I found out I had nothing! I was scheduled to live in the forest village apartments, but unfortunately that fell through and I am left here with nothing at all. I could go on about how mad I am at the person who said that I would "for sure" get a room, and said "there was no way FVA would fill up" but I guess I will hold my tongue. ERRR!!!
Well on a lighter note, I have made plans on going to New Orleans on a missions trip over spring break!!! We will be helping those who are still affected by the damaging effects of hurricane katrina. I have never done a mission trip before so I am very excited about this opportunity. It should be a great experiance, but also alot of work. Sponsorship for travel, food, and expenses to build houses is available, contact me if your interested.
Well this weekend is Valentines day, I am pretty excited!!! I just want this day to be over, I have too much homework to work on :( and I am way too distracted with other things.

Hmm Japanese Steak!
Went to a Japanese Steakhouse for the first time tonight and it was really good and alot of fun!!! The best part was the entertainment we got from the cook, he was pretty hillarious. It was definately a new a fun experience that I think almost anyone would enjoy at least once!
Well after dinner, I watched the Jayhawks fall to the tigers, even though I am somewhat dissapointed, I do take in consideration that all Jayhawk fans were very blessed last year with the national title, We will get em next time! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!
Well I should stop procrastinating on my homework!!! I know something is due in Special Ed tommarro I just dont know what. I heard some kid in the class comment "This class is retarded" lol get it??? Well besides all the paperwork we have to do, I have been enjoying my time at the bowling alley and the pre-school!
Well thats about it, this upcoming weekend is Valentines day, oh boy! This will be the first time I have ever had a girlfriend or even a date for that matter on Valentines day, Yippee!!

Birthday birthday birthday...
Well I celebrated Megans birthday Friday night, which was really fun. We went to the Zona Rosa went shopping and saw a movie. We saw the new "he is just not that into you" It was funny for the most part. I liked it. We also went to cold stone!!! I love Ice Cream, this time I had twix in my ice cream instead of snickers, just so you know lol.
Saturday me and steve went all the way back up to the ville to watch Northwest basketball. I actually had to teach a seminar from 1030-1, so we left pretty early in the morning. Everything went pretty well, the girls lost, but the guys won in a close, exciting victory.
Today I went to church with mom and barry and had some subway it was really Good. Then we went to Leandras birthday party which I thought was Ethans birthday party, whoops, anyways it was nice to see everyone again. Megan came also, and was happy to meet more of my family!!
Today is also Jon R's, Kevin B's, Deborah J and James F's Birthday. Tommarro I am going to celebrate jons bday tommarro by going to the fugi in St Joe to eat! Seems like alot of people are born in February lol
Thats about all I have to say...I was trying to think of a way to make this post "interesting or funny" but I am just not very good at that, :( Aww well

Ready for a new post!
Well its Thursday night, actually friday morning, and I am doing laundry because I dont want to have to do it over the weekend. So while waiting for my last load to finally dry I decided to blog it up.
Everything has been going well for me up here at Northwest, getting things done and progressing through the school year. Been talking to Garrett about next year actually, turns out we might actually get an apartment together in the Forest Village apartments. The "FVA" as they call it, is on campus, which helps me cause I will then get it for a heavily discounted price. It would be nice to bring back the old roommates again one final time, but heck who knows what will happen, its 50/50 right now.
This weekend will again be full of travel for me, but it will be fun! Tommarro I will head to KC to be with Megan. Her birthday was the fourth, so we are somewhat celebrating her birthday. I am excited to see her, I always am missing her throughout the weeks. She makes my weeks drag on, but she also makes my weekends fly by. Saturday, me and Stephen will head back up to Maryville to watch the Bearcats take on the Gorillas of Pittsburgh State. It will be fun to hang with Steve and see a good basketball game.
BTW played another intermural game tonight, played much better than last week :)
Well thats it for now :)

Ahh!!! I am a dinosaur
Well I taught the preschoolers today. I set up a dinosaur themed obstacle course. The kids pretended like they were a fierce dinosaur, doing forward rolls, backward rolls, and running through bowling pins. It was really fun to see them all having so much fun too.
Well I have alot of stuff going on this week, I have a big test tonight in Special Ed, a test tommarro in Multiculteralism, and a test friday in Biomechanics. Then a test in creative movement on thursday. YAY!!! lol not too mention we are in the biggest part of the intermural season and I have a game thursday night at 7.
Well I better get studying...Is it the weekend yet???

Super Bowl...not so super, but I have a super girl :)
Well watched the super bowl today, and it was quite the exciting game. It will go down in the history books as one of the most exciting ever. The Pittsburgh Steelers however, pulled it out. This outcome made me very sad. I really wanted the Cardinals to win the game.
On the other hand I got to watch the game with a very pretty girl, her name is Megan, and she makes me happy even if a football game doesn't go my way. She has made the last 5 months very exciting.
Well this is going to be a short post, but its getting late. I have a very busy week ahead of me, but Ill be fine, I just have to keep pressing on! Megans birthday is on Wednesday, its her 20th isn't she pretty?

Fun times! and More to come!
Well I headed home again as I do most weekends yesterday, but before arriving to Independence I stopped in St Joe, to see Megan. We had a great night just relaxing and watching videos and eating pizza!
Today however was a much different kind of fun as I went out to eat with the Hensons' for Harmonys birthday dinner. We attended the Peach Tree restaurant. It was very tasty! The after that me and Steve headed to Downtown KC, and the Sprint center to try the CBE (college basketball experiance) It was so awesome. All the things you can do there are pretty much amazing, it was definately well worth the ten dollars for admission. After walking around the plaza for a bit me and steve hit up the ice rink and skated around a bit. It was a pretty cool day and it went really well.
Well tommarro is the super bowl and Megan is coming over to watch it at my house. It will be alot of fun. At least for me lol. Then its back to the daily grind of school, but I will of course be back next weekend. Today is the start of February, which looks to be a very exciting and fun month :)!!! Go Cardinals!!!

The shot is up, and its definately not good
So tonight was my first intermural game. I got placed on team two and I somewhat sore about that placement. I felt as though I was much better than people thought and I could help out team one. So I was out to prove how good I was tonight.
So tonight I of course played like I had something to prove. I played hard, but very very badly. I lacked confidence in the second half, and ended the game with a measely 3 points.
I was so pumped for tonights game, and it went so badly for me, I feel emotionally let down. I not only feel like I let my team down, but I also feel like I let myself down. I know I am better than this, but from a viewers standpoint, I should have even been on a lower team than 2.
Sports are so important to my life, yet I think God did this to help me refocus on him. There is no excuse for how I played tonight, except for the fact I may have put it before what is truly important.
So in the future if your reading this Zach, dont focus on, winning or losing, success or failure, but the people in your life that care about you the most. This is about as low as you can get, but if you have your friends they can help you back up!
So tonight I of course played like I had something to prove. I played hard, but very very badly. I lacked confidence in the second half, and ended the game with a measely 3 points.

I live for the weekends!
Hey I am really excited for this weekend!!! This friday I get to go see Megan in St Joe then, I will be coming home after that! Saturday I will get to hang out with Stephen, and then of course Sunday is the big game!!! Yay for the Super Bowl, Go Cardinals. Megan said she might be able to come to my house for the game which makes me SUPER excited, cause I cant think of one person that doesn't know anything about football I'd rather watch it with, lol!
Anyways this week has been kind of a downer so far but its really starting to look up. Tommarro is the first Intermural Basketball game of the season. I love intermural basketball, and I am stoked for it to start. I really hope I play well :) I practiced on Tuesday, but some stuff was on my mind that night and I played horribly, so I hope I can get it together!
Well anyways, I dont really have too much to report on this week except for the usual. Been teaching, writing papers about teaching, and then working basketball practice. Its been busy, but I would rather be busy than bored!

Hmm I scream for Ice Cream
Have you ever had cold stone ice cream. It is by far my favorite! If I didn't care about my health I would be tempted to go get some every day. What I like to get (try it sometime) is Cheesecake ice cream with snicker bits in them. It is sooooooo good. Yummy!
So I have a very fun exciting month coming up in February, and most of the reason is Megan. To start it off the Super Bowl is february 1st, Cardinals vrs the Steelers, GO CARDINALS. Then Megan's birthday is the 4th. She will be turning twenty. Then Valentines day, which formal will be on, (me and megs mini formal since Phi Sigs got canceled) <3. Then me and Megans 6 month anniversary is the 23rd. I think me and Megan get to go to a basketball game somewhere in there too. Boy oh boy :) pretty busy eh? Oh but it will be great fun. Oh ya I forgot its also Black history month, which my African American Multiculteralism teacher hates, because why do they only appreciate what black people do in one month. Do black people just take the other 11 months off? Not too mention that, but its also the shortest month. How is that fair?Lol he is very funny, and I like his class.
Well its three o'clock in the morning. So I should probably go to sleep, but this is the life of a college student I guess :)

I am pretty sure this is what I am supposed to do!
So as a physical education major I am required to get in a variety of observation hours. In Physical Education you do not just observe the age level you want to teach, but you much observe all of them. I have already completed my observation for the most part, but this semester I still have some to take care of.
Tuesday I got to observe the mentally handicapped of Maryville bowl at Bearcat lanes. I got to help them get where they needed to go, and encouraged them when they got frustrated with certain tasks. They were so friendly with me, my favorite story was when a 50 year old lady showed me her Hannah Montana watch she got for Christmas. She kept on informing that she is a pop star! It was such a great experiance to give a little of myself to help those that just need alot of extra attention.
This semester I am observing pre-school kids on MWF. I am probably never going to work with this age level, but the experiance is more than rewarding! Today was my first day with them and it was so fun. First I helped the kids zip up their coats and get on their winter hats, because I got to take them out for recess today. They all wanted to play tag with me, and I made them all chase me, haha yep I pulled out some old football moves as I dipped and dodged as they all tried to tag me. It was quite the experiance, as I got chased by 20 four year olds!
Today was a big basketball game as the Bearcats played Missouri Southern, for the girls team it ended up as a pretty rough night, we lost by 20. I am a student coach for the women, and we really have had a tough year. The guys however pulled out a very close win. I got to watch the guys game with Garrett, which was really cool, because throughout the years we have not been able to hang as much as we used to in high school.
I think I learned alot from the mentally handicapped and the preschool kids. In life I think we take things a little to seriously. Heck I know I do. When bowling the mentally handicapped were not concerned about how well they did or what others may get to do, they were just happy that they got to do something! And the preschoolers were just happy they had a new teacher to play with today, they didn't care what I looked like or how I talked, they were just happy to have a new friend!!!

Wow

what does wow mean to you, usually for me wow is a good thing, sometimes amazing, and sometimes great, but not just that, it has to be so great it surprises you how amazing it actually is.
I have been dating someone for about 5 months now, and I sure like her alot, I like her more than anyone I have dated previously, and I try to say that with as little bias as possible. However during those five months I didn't say wow.
Last Sunday I headed back to Independence, and spent the entire day watching my favorite thing on tv, which is of course football. I got to watch it with my dad and my brother, which was really awesome because I dont get to see them as much with how much I travel (see last post) Then after football I spend the night (all the way til 3 A.M.) hanging with my best friends. On monday I was hesistant to leave, but I knew I had to go visit my girlfriend on the UMKC campus.
I didn't really expect much from this date, all we were doing was saving money by eating at the schools cafeteria and watching a T.V. show, I definately did not expect to have that much fun, but boy was I wrong, something kicked in that never had before in our five months together, time flew fast, and I was wowed that I had such an amazing girlfriend like Megan, everything seemed right, and everything was...well all I can say is WOW :)

travel travel travel
I am now a junior at Northwest Missouri State which is and hour and 45 minutes from my home in Independence, and I know a little thing about traveling. Thursday I went down to Independence, Friday back up to Maryville, Saturday I went with the basketball team to Bolivar Missouri and back, which is a four hour trip each way. Today shortly after completing this blog I will return to Independence, and of course on Monday I will return to Maryville.
I would not hesistate to say I am slightly tired of being on the road, but it has been like this all three years of my college career. I like to be home, but I also like to go places, but the travel can be quite taxing. Even during the summer I made consitant travel, back and forth from Independence to Maryville many times, Oklahoma and back, Denver and back, Bennett Springs, Branson, Minnesota and back, Turkey Hill Bible camp, and yes I even went to Dallas, Texas. To most that would seem like a lot of travel for my whole college career, but what if I told you that was all just last summer, and I didn't even mention my trip to Omaha last spring, Saint Charles to see my brother at college in fall, Florence, Alabama for the national title game just recently in December. There is more, but I wont continue to bore you with my extensive travel.
Well I know this seems wierd for my first blog, but I think it does share alot about who I am. I love people, and I love to do new things. I cant stand being bored, heck thats why I am writing this blog. To many I know it might have seemed like I have drifted away, and that I dont want to be around them very much, but that couldn't be further from the truth, I actually do all of this travel so I can see as many people as I possibly can.
