Fun times! and More to come!

Well I headed home again as I do most weekends yesterday, but before arriving to Independence I stopped in St Joe, to see Megan. We had a great night just relaxing and watching videos and eating pizza!

Today however was a much different kind of fun as I went out to eat with the Hensons' for Harmonys birthday dinner. We attended the Peach Tree restaurant. It was very tasty! The after that me and Steve headed to Downtown KC, and the Sprint center to try the CBE (college basketball experiance) It was so awesome. All the things you can do there are pretty much amazing, it was definately well worth the ten dollars for admission. After walking around the plaza for a bit me and steve hit up the ice rink and skated around a bit. It was a pretty cool day and it went really well.

Well tommarro is the super bowl and Megan is coming over to watch it at my house. It will be alot of fun. At least for me lol. Then its back to the daily grind of school, but I will of course be back next weekend. Today is the start of February, which looks to be a very exciting and fun month :)!!! Go Cardinals!!!

The shot is up, and its definately not good

So tonight was my first intermural game. I got placed on team two and I somewhat sore about that placement. I felt as though I was much better than people thought and I could help out team one. So I was out to prove how good I was tonight.

So tonight I of course played like I had something to prove. I played hard, but very very badly. I lacked confidence in the second half, and ended the game with a measely 3 points.

I was so pumped for tonights game, and it went so badly for me, I feel emotionally let down. I not only feel like I let my team down, but I also feel like I let myself down. I know I am better than this, but from a viewers standpoint, I should have even been on a lower team than 2.

Sports are so important to my life, yet I think God did this to help me refocus on him. There is no excuse for how I played tonight, except for the fact I may have put it before what is truly important.

So in the future if your reading this Zach, dont focus on, winning or losing, success or failure, but the people in your life that care about you the most. This is about as low as you can get, but if you have your friends they can help you back up!

I live for the weekends!

Hey I am really excited for this weekend!!! This friday I get to go see Megan in St Joe then, I will be coming home after that! Saturday I will get to hang out with Stephen, and then of course Sunday is the big game!!! Yay for the Super Bowl, Go Cardinals. Megan said she might be able to come to my house for the game which makes me SUPER excited, cause I cant think of one person that doesn't know anything about football I'd rather watch it with, lol!

Anyways this week has been kind of a downer so far but its really starting to look up. Tommarro is the first Intermural Basketball game of the season. I love intermural basketball, and I am stoked for it to start. I really hope I play well :) I practiced on Tuesday, but some stuff was on my mind that night and I played horribly, so I hope I can get it together!

Well anyways, I dont really have too much to report on this week except for the usual. Been teaching, writing papers about teaching, and then working basketball practice. Its been busy, but I would rather be busy than bored!

Hmm I scream for Ice Cream

Have you ever had cold stone ice cream. It is by far my favorite! If I didn't care about my health I would be tempted to go get some every day. What I like to get (try it sometime) is Cheesecake ice cream with snicker bits in them. It is sooooooo good. Yummy!

So I have a very fun exciting month coming up in February, and most of the reason is Megan. To start it off the Super Bowl is february 1st, Cardinals vrs the Steelers, GO CARDINALS. Then Megan's birthday is the 4th. She will be turning twenty. Then Valentines day, which formal will be on, (me and megs mini formal since Phi Sigs got canceled) <3. Then me and Megans 6 month anniversary is the 23rd. I think me and Megan get to go to a basketball game somewhere in there too. Boy oh boy :) pretty busy eh? Oh but it will be great fun. Oh ya I forgot its also Black history month, which my African American Multiculteralism teacher hates, because why do they only appreciate what black people do in one month. Do black people just take the other 11 months off? Not too mention that, but its also the shortest month. How is that fair?Lol he is very funny, and I like his class.

Well its three o'clock in the morning. So I should probably go to sleep, but this is the life of a college student I guess :)

I am pretty sure this is what I am supposed to do!

So as a physical education major I am required to get in a variety of observation hours. In Physical Education you do not just observe the age level you want to teach, but you much observe all of them. I have already completed my observation for the most part, but this semester I still have some to take care of.

Tuesday I got to observe the mentally handicapped of Maryville bowl at Bearcat lanes. I got to help them get where they needed to go, and encouraged them when they got frustrated with certain tasks. They were so friendly with me, my favorite story was when a 50 year old lady showed me her Hannah Montana watch she got for Christmas. She kept on informing that she is a pop star! It was such a great experiance to give a little of myself to help those that just need alot of extra attention.

This semester I am observing pre-school kids on MWF. I am probably never going to work with this age level, but the experiance is more than rewarding! Today was my first day with them and it was so fun. First I helped the kids zip up their coats and get on their winter hats, because I got to take them out for recess today. They all wanted to play tag with me, and I made them all chase me, haha yep I pulled out some old football moves as I dipped and dodged as they all tried to tag me. It was quite the experiance, as I got chased by 20 four year olds!

Today was a big basketball game as the Bearcats played Missouri Southern, for the girls team it ended up as a pretty rough night, we lost by 20. I am a student coach for the women, and we really have had a tough year. The guys however pulled out a very close win. I got to watch the guys game with Garrett, which was really cool, because throughout the years we have not been able to hang as much as we used to in high school.

I think I learned alot from the mentally handicapped and the preschool kids. In life I think we take things a little to seriously. Heck I know I do. When bowling the mentally handicapped were not concerned about how well they did or what others may get to do, they were just happy that they got to do something! And the preschoolers were just happy they had a new teacher to play with today, they didn't care what I looked like or how I talked, they were just happy to have a new friend!!!

Wow

what does wow mean to you, usually for me wow is a good thing, sometimes amazing, and sometimes great, but not just that, it has to be so great it surprises you how amazing it actually is.

I have been dating someone for about 5 months now, and I sure like her alot, I like her more than anyone I have dated previously, and I try to say that with as little bias as possible. However during those five months I didn't say wow.

Last Sunday I headed back to Independence, and spent the entire day watching my favorite thing on tv, which is of course football. I got to watch it with my dad and my brother, which was really awesome because I dont get to see them as much with how much I travel (see last post) Then after football I spend the night (all the way til 3 A.M.) hanging with my best friends. On monday I was hesistant to leave, but I knew I had to go visit my girlfriend on the UMKC campus.

I didn't really expect much from this date, all we were doing was saving money by eating at the schools cafeteria and watching a T.V. show, I definately did not expect to have that much fun, but boy was I wrong, something kicked in that never had before in our five months together, time flew fast, and I was wowed that I had such an amazing girlfriend like Megan, everything seemed right, and everything was...well all I can say is WOW :)

travel travel travel

I am now a junior at Northwest Missouri State which is and hour and 45 minutes from my home in Independence, and I know a little thing about traveling. Thursday I went down to Independence, Friday back up to Maryville, Saturday I went with the basketball team to Bolivar Missouri and back, which is a four hour trip each way. Today shortly after completing this blog I will return to Independence, and of course on Monday I will return to Maryville.

I would not hesistate to say I am slightly tired of being on the road, but it has been like this all three years of my college career. I like to be home, but I also like to go places, but the travel can be quite taxing. Even during the summer I made consitant travel, back and forth from Independence to Maryville many times, Oklahoma and back, Denver and back, Bennett Springs, Branson, Minnesota and back, Turkey Hill Bible camp, and yes I even went to Dallas, Texas. To most that would seem like a lot of travel for my whole college career, but what if I told you that was all just last summer, and I didn't even mention my trip to Omaha last spring, Saint Charles to see my brother at college in fall, Florence, Alabama for the national title game just recently in December. There is more, but I wont continue to bore you with my extensive travel.

Well I know this seems wierd for my first blog, but I think it does share alot about who I am. I love people, and I love to do new things. I cant stand being bored, heck thats why I am writing this blog. To many I know it might have seemed like I have drifted away, and that I dont want to be around them very much, but that couldn't be further from the truth, I actually do all of this travel so I can see as many people as I possibly can.
