So its been awhile since my last post, but not really all that much has happened. I have been just working hard, managin Phi Sigma Kappa Athletics, and doing my homework.
I was about to type about how excited I am for this semester to end, and I decided not too. Although I am excited for this semester to end, I dont know how excited I am anymore. Its kinda of a wierd thing, where I realized that my time here is flying by way to quickly and I am going to really miss it.
One thing I am really going to miss is my fraternity. Phi Sigma Kappa has been a source of great Pride for me the last few years. It has helped me grow more as a person, and become a better man. I only have one more year to be an active Phi Sig, so I definately want to take full advantage of that. We are sending the seniors off in style this weekend, I am gonna miss those guys, they have been such a big part of my life for three years.
So this upcoming weekend is the PSK formal. Then I am planning on going to a Royals game on saturday. GO ROYALS, I really hope this is the season everyone is hoping for.
Well thats about it, gotta go study for these finals! Yippee!!!

Easter fun!!!
Well my Easter weekend went pretty well. It was actually pretty relaxing and not as hectic as my normal trips home. I actually had a night somewhat to myself, where I did some homework and watched a movie. Even though part of me wished I had more to do, and someone to do it with, it was nice to kinda just chill.
On Easter I got to hang out and see alot of people I had been missing. It was a good time to get to go to Bales baptist and then hang out at Ethan's house afterwards. I headed to Maryville in the afternoon, but actually stopped in St Joe because as I was driving through a friend called and told me to bowl a few games with them since it was dollar night.
I hadn't bowled in forever, not a huge fan of bowling at all, but it was interesting I actually bowled a really good game. In the first game I rolled a 169, thanks mainly for me rolling three strikes in the final frame. I had never, ever done that before. In the second game I sunk to a 110, and then in the third I got back up to a respectable 127. Besides the unwarranted success, (I usually bowl well under 100) it was fun to get out and do something different with some friends.
Well lots of things are coming up this month, so I probably wont be home until summer. First this weekend is the Boys Like Girls concert, then the next weekend after that is Phi Sig Formal. (I know its been canceled and rescheduled like 100 times lol) but this one is actually in stone. Then I think the weekend after that will be when school is out. SO EXCITED FOR SUMMER!!! Royals games, basketball at the y and center, going to the lake, vacations and trips, Upward Bound, hanging out with the homies!!! Should shape up pretty well.
I am so glad, for everything God has blessed me with! Praise the Lord, he even forgives people like me....

Gods plan vrs mine
I like to have everything under control. I like to know exactly what we are doing and when. I like to have a plan for action. If it doesn't go my way, I get frustrated. Sometimes even mad.
However God says that we truly have very little control about what happens. He makes everything work in his plan, and unfortunately, sometimes I am too immature to realize that plan is better for me.
Last night, I was going to a Easter youth service at 7pm, afterwards there was planned to be a gathering with the youth group at some place in the city of Independence. Me and Stephen were excited to attend these events and it seemed as it my night was planned out pretty well. However us attending those events was definately not in Gods plans, as my brother broke down somewhere in the Middle of his trip back home. It was hard to understand how this whole situation was necessary in Gods plan.
On the way out me and Stephen had alot of time to talk. Believe it or not, our devotion we read in the car said that God wants us to be prepared for change, and how sometimes we cant understand how the change will help us in the end, but God promises that it will.
I think the car ride out and back actually was Gods plan for us. Me Stephen and Malcolm talked about alot of important things going on in our lives. Hopefully we can all stay strong and keep looking for Gods guidance in a world we have little control in.
Today we all go get to see the Royals play on OPENING DAY!!! Its so exciting! Hopefully the weather stays good for the game. Go ROYALS!!!

Another Year older...just another year
Well yesterday was quite the birthday, I went to class all day and worked on projects all day. I had to teach today also, so I spent my birthday doing lesson plans, and reading text messages.
I have not been on facebook for over a week. The reason for me taking a break on that is that I wanted to use my spare time to read the bible more and attain Gods guidance for my life. However, as you can see I am on Blogspot instead. No I am kidding, I have done pretty well with that and I am very excited to come home for Easter weekend.
Funny birthday story though. Yesterday I had a class that went from 430-6 (YA I KNOW on my birthday!!!) The teacher found out it was my birthday and had everyone say happy birthday together to me, it was a nice gesture, but it was very awkward, considering she thought my name was Kyle. I just ignored it, better to just keep quiet instead of embarrass her in front of the whole class, but later she said "Well I am thinking about letting class out early so everyone can celebrate Kyle's birthday" This rose a few chuckles from a few students who knew me, yet still we didn't say anything. She finally realized her folly when handing back my test. I felt bad for her embarrassment, but it did rise a good laugh.
I guess its pretty unfortunate that, that is the most exciting story from my birthday. However this weekend is going to be quite fun. Royals opening day is going to be quite fun.
Well tonight I play in the intramural all star game. Pretty amazing I still made this team after the way I performed all season. Anyways it should be fun!
See you all this weekend!

Pressin on
I dont really have too much to say, yet I thought I would post, just to keep everyone informed on whats going on in my life.
I have had an interesting last few days. I am really trying hard, to try as hard as I can, to be the very best that I can. Pray for me...I am weak.
However, I have a lot of good news. Today I attended an awards ceremony for Northwest future educators. I was awarded the Fred Fuhr memorial scholarship. I was blessed to meet the donors, and Dean Hubbard, the President of the University. (No his name is dean, he is not the Dean lol)
This past weekend, I went with Steve to the National Negro League baseball museum. It was a great experience. The Negro Leagues are very special to my heart, they were instrumental in helping desegregating American, not to mention sports.
Later that day, me, steve and malcolm played some hoops. It was alot of fun just kickin it with the guys.
Yay for my birthday, its Tuesday, which happens to be the first Royals game of the season.
GO ROYALS!!!

My Rear View mirror of regret.
A few years ago, something was tearing me up pretty bad. Alot of regret was conquering me and making me weak to the core. I was mad at myself, and at my situation. I hated what I had done, and I thought I could never be happy with myself because of my actions.
I was told a story that I will never forget, and even though not amazingly inspirational or exciting it was exactly what I needed to hear. The story was about a man who was suffering with something that he regretted. He never ever wanted to do it again, so he wrote what he regretted on his rear view mirror, so he would always be reminded never to make that mistake in which regretted so deeply. A few weeks later, he made another mistake, he regretted what he said to someone he loved so he wrote that on his mirror, so he would never remember to do that again. Another week went by and another regret, then another and another. Finally the mirror was so clogged with regret he could not even see his reflection in it anymore. He then crushed the mirror and got a new one, fresh from all of his mistakes from the past.
Sometimes, when you make mistakes you dwell on them way too long, and you end up only making more mistakes that you regret. You need to move on, and just try your best to rely on the guidance of the Lord and not let the past get in the way.
Unfortunately I never took this story to heart until today...here is my rear view mirror, I will never regret this stuff again, but move on to a future that is bright, with a new rear view mirror that is clear of the pains of my past.
Today I wrote all of my regrets on an old rear view mirror that fell off my car a couple weeks ago (dont worry I have new ones) and crushed it, symbolizing me moving on from the worries of my past.
One of the things I really realized today is that I am not in control. So many times I feel like I can control exactly whats going to happen to me, and time and time again, I realize that God has a different and better plan for my life.

The Ultimate Champion
So today was a good day,...sort of :(
some know the problems I am having, but I dont feel it is necessary to post a blog about it, just know I am not my happiest.
Great News: I was elected Phi Sigma Kappa Intramural chair. I am so excited! I am going to be in charge of setting up athletic events for the chapter, and encouraging every man to participate, and have fun with it. This position is a big resume builder for me, and I am very blessed to be recognized with this position.
One thing I love about athletics is sometimes is can bring out the best in a person and sometimes it can bring out the worst. Athletics are symbolic to life for many sports fans, and experiences faced in athletics can be translated to life.
Do you know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27
This verse is definately one of my favorites. It really means alot to me and the way I live my life. In so many different ways. One of the biggest ways this verse speaks to me, is that it actually downgrades the importance of athletics, and shows how much MORE important our journey with the Lord is. Sometimes, I really comtemplate how much stronger my relationship with God would be if I put the same "never quit, never slow down" attitude into my relationship with him.
As a coach and a teacher, I will have, and have, alot of kids looking up to me. This verse also speaks to me about how important my example is. I must be a winner, before I can ever encourage others to be winners.
